Fire blanket price and sizes for kitchens and homes

If you are comparing fire blanket price and quality, start with what the blanket has to do. A fire blanket smothers a small fire by cutting off its air supply. Pull the two tapes, the blanket drops out of its pouch, and you lay it over a burning pan or wrap it around a person whose clothes have caught fire. Then leave it in place until everything has cooled.

It needs no training, no pressure gauge and no refill, which makes it one of the simplest fire safety items you can keep at home or at work.

Where to use it

A fire blanket is most useful wherever a small fire can start in seconds:

• Home kitchens, especially near the gas stove
• Restaurant and hotel kitchens, beside the cooking line
• School and college labs, workshops and canteens
• Clothing fires, to wrap and smother the flames

Choose 1×2 m for home kitchens and small spaces, and 2×2 m for commercial kitchens, labs and for wrapping a person. In a commercial kitchen, keep the blanket next to a type K fire extinguisher for cooking oil fires. At home, pair it with a compact ABC type fire extinguisher for other fires.
