What is a lithium fire extinguisher?
A lithium fire extinguisher is made for lithium-ion battery fires. These fires burn hot, spread from cell to cell and can reignite long after the flames seem to be out. Water, powder and CO2 can knock down the flames, but often do not cool the cells enough to stop it starting again.
The special agent cools the cells and encapsulates the fire, which helps stop re-ignition. That is why EV charging areas and battery rooms need a dedicated unit.

Which model and size?
Both models come in 1 L, 2 L, 4 L, 6 L and 9 L.
The lithium fire extinguisher suits EV charging, e-bikes, UPS and battery storage. The lithium SS body model has a stainless steel cylinder for EVs, laptops and solar battery storage, and premium or coastal locations.
As a guide, choose 1 L or 2 L for a home with an e-bike or inverter battery, 4 L or 6 L for a charging bay, showroom or UPS room, and 9 L for parking levels and larger battery rooms. Keep the unit near the exit of the area, not right beside the charger.
