Where a CO2 extinguisher is the right choice
- Electrical panels, meter rooms and DG sets: CO2 does not conduct electricity and leaves no residue.
- Server and UPS rooms (or use a clean agent unit).
- Labs and workshops with flammable liquids (Class B).
CO2 is not ideal for paper, wood or cloth fires; pair it with ABC units elsewhere on the floor.

How to check a CO2 fire extinguisher
CO2 units have no pressure gauge, so they are checked by weight against the weight printed on the label. Also check that the safety pin and seal are in place, the horn is not cracked and the cylinder is free of dents and rust. Replace the unit after any use.
